2 night 3 day – Mount Suswa Conservancy Bush Camping

Day 1. Nairobi to Mount Suswa Conservancy

We will pick you up in Nairobi at around 9am this morning and make the scenic drive through the Rift Valley for a few hours to our campsite in Suswa Conservancy. Mount Suswa is a stunning double crater shield volcano and the conservation area is managed entirely by the local Masai community. This is a beautiful and unique but rarely visited area of Kenya due to it’s poor access roads and lack of infrastructure. This afternoon you will have a chance to visit the villages of the local Masai who run the conservation area and see the unique ways in which they have learnt to survive and harvest water in such an undeveloped area. This evening you can enjoy a drink at camp as the sun goes down before dinner. L,D

Day 2. Mount Suswa Conservancy

Today it’s time to hike! After an early breakfast, before the sun gets too hot, you have the opportunity to hike up to the highest peak of Mount Suswa with a summit height of 2356m. The hike up to the summit and back to the campsite is around 14km and takes approximately 4 hours. For those who would like a bigger challenge it is also possible to hike the whole way around the crater rim today which is around 22kms and will take most of the day. You will be rewarded with some stunning views and will get plenty of interesting information from your local Masai guides who have grown up in the area. This afternoon we will do a BBQ at camp where we will roast meat on sticks in the traditional Masai way for dinner. B,L,D

Day 3. Mount Suswa to Nairobi

This morning you will have the opportunity to explore the underground lava cave networks, home to bats, baboons and sometimes patrolled at night by Leopards at night! After lunch we will head back to Nairobi where we will arrive in the afternoon. B,L

Moses and Laura were amazing host. From suggesting routes, arranging a full day game drive (Jeffrey our guide brought the best of Masai Mara to us) to joining us for sunsets! The Pink Container was the most comfortable airbnb we stayed at so far :)

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the pink container & would have loved to stay longer. Moses & everyone we met were so wonderful, we really felt right at home. The time flew by in the most beautiful surroundings, and it was such a great base to explore Maasai Mara too! Everything was clean and worked well, the kitchen was very well stocked. We brought some of the food items ourselves & bought some stuff from the farm directly - delicious. 100% recommend this place and we would stay again, and hopefully will one day!

Could not possibly recommend Moses' and Laura's place more highly - from the gorgeous location at their lush farm close to the park gate, to my guide Mike who couldn't have been more welcoming, patient with (stupid) questions about Maasai and Kenyan life, knowledgeable about the wildlife, or just a joy to hang out with, to the fantastic home cooked catering using many ingredients from the farm, to Moses' banter and storytelling, and more. I'd come back next week if I could - but whoever is reading this, you should be the one who takes that spot. You won't regret it!

Absolute best Airbnb and Safari experience I’ve ever had (I’m a girl mid-20s, huge traveler). My mom and brother were coming to visit me and their flight was canceled last minute and Moses was very understanding allowed me to change the dates without charge. I spent a long time researching places and Moses’s place was incredibly underpriced compared to the other rates in the area, especially for the HIGH value of the place. The place was super clean, comfortable, gorgeous location (sunset especially). Plus you have the option of meals (super reasonably priced) from the farm that tasted amazing. A highlight was Moses spending time taking us around the farm for a tour and telling us about the village (for free), he even gave me local herbal oil for my back pain. The Safari with Mara Explorers was so memorable, the price was amazing. Mike the guide knew so much about where to find the all the animals and was so attentive and knowledgeable. We saw every animal! Highly recommend.

Moses and his friends have provided us with a perfect trip in Kenya. He gives me a feeling that he knows how we can make the world a better place and he is trying to use his power to make it happen. I appreciate the opportunity to talk with him and his team for many days. Also, I must say, what he and Simon have provided us is not just accommodation and guided tours, but more on lifestyle. I enjoy the whole experience!

So, one word: Perfect. We spent 2 nights in the pink container & felt like we could’ve stayed forever. Moses has thought about everything: the house has everything, everything worked, & communications were completely effortless. Anything you can think of will be taken care of with fidelity & pleasure. The location is great; staying at the farm was cosy, & you can spot some safari animals on the other side of the fence! Everyone on the farm was so warm-hearted; we felt so welcome. We got the whole package – catering, taxis & a Maasai guide. We had requested vegan catering: excellent, homey food. We did a 1-day safari with our Maasai guide, David. The day was pitch-perfect. David was really sympathetic – a very knowledgeable guide & a great driver. We did a nature walk with David, too, & visited the Maasai village. We can’t recommend this experience warmly enough. If there’s a superlative I forgot to use here, that’s my bad. Just book with them, you’re in for the time of your life.

We stayed 3 nights at Laura's and Moses' place and could not be happier with the experience. The place is beautiful, quiet, and surrounded with animals. We opted for the full catering which allowed us for peace of mind and to enjoy the delicious locally sourced meals prepared by our two hosts. They even prepared zero waste breakfast and lunchboxes to enjoy during our game rides in the parc.Moses is very inspiring and it was a pleasure to listen to his story, what he does for the local community and their work at the Kobi farm, while watching the sunset from the nearby platform. We also went for a tour with Mike, a Masaai from the neighbouring village, which was a very pleasant surprise! Thanks again Moses, Laura, Joshua, Mike and Cactus!

There's no better place to stay for price, comfort, privacy, security and location if you are visiting Maasai Mara National Reserve. Moses was extremely responsive and even let us scout out the location in advance of our booking. He was always available and on site, along with 24 hour security that was always nearby. The shower was hot, the beds were comfy, and they had all of the basic amenities you need to cook. You can actually see wildlife on the other side of the compound fence when you're sitting on the porch. The tent cots were extremely comfortable. We had electricity the entire time. Most of all Moses & Laura were so kind and helpful. My mom and brother were so impressed. They really went above and beyond. Plus, the location is just outside the Sekanani gate. You really can't get any closer unless you're inside the park (but you won't have the comfort & amenities and will pay much more money). We will definitely recommend this to friends and be back. Thank you Moses & Laura!

We had two great days in the pink container. Laura and Moses are very nice, courteous and hospitable hosts. The standard and the equipment in the container as well as the service and joint conversations and activities with Moses and the staff were perfect. We felt at home from the very first moment and didn't miss a thing. Many thanks for the wonderful time.
