5 days – Ultimate Masai Mara

DAY 1. NAIROBI TO MAASAI MARA

We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 8am this morning and make the journey by road to the Maasai Mara. On route we will descend down the Great Rift Valley escarpment where we can stop for photos, we should arrive at Semadep Mara Camp in time for lunch. After lunch this afternoon you will have the opportunity to head out on foot for a Masai guided nature walk where our local Maasai guides can explain to you about their traditional uses for certain trees and plants in their medicine and you can look out for signs of wildlife. You will return to camp later this afternoon for dinner and overnight. L,D

DAY 2. MAASAI MARA BUSH CAMPING

This morning we will enter the Maasai Mara reserve for an exciting day of game driving and a night of bush camping in the wild! We will do our game drive and have a picnic lunch later under a shady tree today. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5, Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Although some of them are very hard to spot so what you see all depends on your luck on the day! Late this afternoon we will game drive our way to our bush camp close to Sand River. Here there are no facilities and no fences, just the wild. Our team will have prepared you two man camping dome tents with camp beds and sleeping bags and there will be a short drop toilet available. Our chef will be busy in his mobile kitchen whipping you up a delicious dinner which we will enjoy under the stars by the campfire tonight. B,L,D

DAY 3. MAASAI MARA

We’ll have an early start today as we wake up for an early morning game drive before returning to camp for breakfast. We’ll then head out for the rest of the day with a packed lunch which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. Late this afternoon we will leave the reserve and head out for a traditional Masai BBQ dinner before returning to Semadep Mara Camp to overnight. B,L,D

DAY 4. MAASAI MARA HOMESTAY

After a leisurely breakfast today, we will head to a local Maasai homestay for lunch and overnight. Here you will have the opportunity to experience the real life Maasai culture and their day to day activities as you learn all about their traditions and beliefs. Activities may include herding, fetching firewood, milking, beading and visiting a traditional village boma and school during term time. B,L,D

Moses and Laura were excellent hosts and they and their staff were all incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. We had the most memorable experience . Highly recommend to anyone who is doubting whether to book. The BBQ evening was a highlight , delicious food and fascinating dancing and singing from the Masai tribe. We loved every moment of it , as did our 3 year old and we were lucky enough to see lions, cheetah , a python, elephants and giraffes and Debra’s amongst others on our game drives , - Mike was an expert in tracking down the animals and sharing amazing stories. We also got engaged on the viewing platform in Moses garden !! Don’t miss out . The cabin has everything g you need and a beautiful garden to chill out in

We absolutely loved everything about our stay on Kobi Farm! The warm greeting by Moses, the neighboring wildlife, eating Marshmellows with Josphat (Security and fire master), stargazing on the hammock, the tour of the farm + the herding. Our personal favorite were the safari gamedrives with Mike! We had a blast:)

If I could give Moses and Laura 100 stars, I would. This was truly the experience of a lifetime and while I anticipated having a great stay, they curated an adventure above and beyond anything imaginable. The game drive was otherworldly, and our guide, Mike, was fantastic. It was super affordable and well worth every penny spent. The personal touches like setting up breakfast in the park and bringing blankets for the chilly morning ride were so sweet. The Bush BBQ is an absolute MUST. We loved dancing with the Maasai men and eating super fresh lamb cooked over a fire. We also did a morning walk with Moses while he herded their animals and he shared so much knowledge about the landscape, culture, medicinal plants and local animals. He is a wealth of knowledge and we are forever grateful for his hospitality. If you’re considering staying with them, don’t think twice. Book now and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime. Thanks so much Moses and Laura!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was two couples and we felt comfortable in the unit. We stayed for two nights and felt that was perfect to be able to enjoy the property. It is also 15 minutes from the main Masai Mara entrance. We will be back!

This place is 100% recommended to anyone considering a clean space, super unusual staying in the middle of a park yet feeling safe. I was truly impressed with how Moses took care of all the small details starting with the apartment and how keen they are on ensuring that everything is sustainable. Moses and Laura have been super friendly, they showed us around the farm, cooked us dinner as per our request and packed lunch. Also, the location is only 15 minutes away from Masai gate. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it to everyone :)

Moses and Laura were fantastic. They made us feel at home but we also had the privacy of our own space if we needed it, but they were also always available if we had questions. They also have a lookout point to watch the sunset and animals which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had such a great time not just on their property but also spending time with them and getting to know them. We came with no expectations but felt so at home, we definitely feel as if we made two new friends
