Day 1. NAIROBI TO AMBOSELI
We will pick you up from your accommodation in Nairobi around 8am this morning and start heading south on the scenic journey to Amboseli National Park (approx. 4hr drive). We hope to arrive at our accommodation of Serena Amboseli Lodge for lunch. Later this afternoon we will go for a game drive to explore the national park. Included meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 2. AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
This morning we will head out early to begin exploring Amboseli National Park. This park is famous for its huge herds of Elephants and wide range of bird species. There is also a lookout hill where you will have the opportunity to climb up to the viewpoint and look out over the marsh lands which are home to Hippos and Waterbucks below. Overnight Serena Amboseli Lodge. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 3. AMBOSELI TO NAIVASHA
After breakfast we will depart Amboseli and head north again to Naivasha which will be around a 6-7 hour drive. We will stop on route for you to get lunch (not included) and close by to Naivasha you will have the opportunity to stop for photos at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint. On arrival in Naivasha we will head to Naivasha Sopa Lodge, which will be our accommodation for the next two nights. Included meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 4. NAIVASHA
This morning you will be able to get out on bikes and head into Hell’s Gate National Park to explore this scenic park with its rock formations and wildlife. This is one of the only parks in Kenya where you can walk and cycle inside due to the lack of dangerous predators. You will be able to cycle as you explore Fischers Tower and walk to the Ol Njorowa Gorge viewpoint inside the park with our guide. We will also go for a boat trip on lake Naivasha for around 1 hour this afternoon, where we will look out for hippos and the African Fish Eagle! Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 5. NAIVASHA TO MASAI MARA
We will depart Naivasha after breakfast this morning and make the journey to the Masai Mara which will take us around 4-5 hours. We hope to arrive to arrive in time for lunch at Basecamp Masai Mara, a camp we use for its eco friendly and sustainable ethos. This afternoon we will have our first game drive in the Maasai Mara. The Maasai Mara is a Big 5 National Game Reserve meaning it is home to all of the Big 5; Elephant, Rhino, Lion, Leopard and Buffalo. Although some of them are very hard to spot so what you see all depends on your luck on the day! We will return to camp for dinner and overnight. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 6. MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE
Today we will head out into the Masai Mara for a full day game drive with a packed lunch which we will enjoy later under a shady tree. We will have time to explore large areas of the reserve today and visit an area frequented by Hippos and Crocodiles before we return to our camp for dinner and overnight. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Day 7. MASAI MARA TO NAIROBI
We will game drive out of the Masai Mara by 10am today. You will have the chance to participate in an optional activity this morning, such as the Masai village visit or nature walk, before we head back to Nairobi, where we expect to arrive by the late afternoon. Included meals: Breakfast
Price includes 7 days transport and game drives in a 4×4 safari jeep with either roof hatches or a pop-up roof for game viewing, services of an English speaking driver/guide, 6 nights double/twin/triple ensuite accommodation, all meals as shown in the itinerary, Amboseli park entry, Maasai Mara park entry, guided cycling trip in Hell’s Gate National Park, boat trip on lake Naivasha, unlimited drinking water throughout the safari for clients who have a refillable water bottle.
